Top Four Students Selected To Represent Philippines at the 12th Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative (HYLI)

– Regional forum will be held in Bangkok, Thailand from 1-5 July 2013

Manila, March 25, 2013 – Hitachi Asia Ltd. announced that four university students have been selected to represent Philippines at the 12th Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative (HYLI) to be held in Bangkok, Thailand from July 1 to 5, 2013.

At the recently concluded Final Student Selection Interview, student finalists participated in face-to-face interviews with judges from various backgrounds. They are: panel chairman and former Supreme Court justice Antonio Eduardo Nachura, COMELEC spokesperson James Arthur Jimenez, PECABAR (Ponce Enrile, Reyes and Manalastas) Law Office managing partner Atty. Enrique Dela Cruz Jr., Hitachi Asia Ltd. Philippine branch Finance and Accounting/HR and Administration senior manager Elsa Vida and Weber Shandwick President and Chief Operating Officer Diana Lesaca.

Established by Hitachi, Ltd. in 1996, the initiative offers an opportunity for top students in Asia, who are also active social contributors, to discuss regional economic and social infrastructure issues with prominent regional opinion leaders from the private, public and academic sectors.

The four Philippine representatives will join their counterparts from Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and Japan at the regional forum, which features speakers from around the region under the theme ‘The Road Ahead: ASEAN’s Role in Asia and the Global Economy’.
