Hitachi Appoints Yoshito Kodama as Managing Director of Hitachi Asia (Thailand) Co. Ltd.

Bangkok, March 12, 2018 – Hitachi, Ltd. (TSE: 6501, “Hitachi”) today announced the appointment of Mr. Yoshito Kodama as Managing Director of Hitachi Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. with a responsibility to lead growth in operations and to expand Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business across Thailand.

Mr. Kodama will succeed Mr. Yasuo Mizutani, who is returning to Japan as Senior Manager of the Global Business Development Division, under the Corporate Sales & Marketing Group of Hitachi, Ltd.

Both appointments will take effect from April 1, 2018.

Mr. Kodama has a wealth of business experience in strategy planning across global markets, including sectors such as information and telecommunications, as well as data systems. He started his career with Hitachi, Ltd. in 1988, after graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science from the University of Tsukuba.

In 2010, Mr. Kodama rose to the rank of Department Manager of the Global Business Planning & Operations Division, where he developed and led Hitachi’s go-to-market (GTM) strategy for the Indian market. In 2011, Mr. Kodama assumed a role as Senior Vice President and member of the executive committee of Hitachi Vantara in Santa Clara, within the United States of America. In 2015, he was appointed General Manager of the Global Management and Strategy Planning Division, under the Systems & Services Business Division, where he spearheaded strategy planning for Hitachi’s social innovation business worldwide. Since 2016, Mr. Kodama has served as a board member of Hitachi Consulting Corporation.
