Kojin Nakakita appointed new Chairman of Hitachi Asia Ltd.

Singapore, February 20, 2017 — Hitachi Asia Ltd. today announced that Mr. Kojin Nakakita has been appointed as Chairman of Hitachi Asia Ltd. He will concurrently serve as Chairman and Managing Director of Hitachi India Pvt. Ltd. The new appointment will be effective from 1 April 2017.

He succeeds Mr. Ichiro Iino, who is returning to Japan to assume the post of Vice President and Executive Officer, Hitachi Transport System, Ltd.

After graduating from the United States International University in 1988, Mr. Nakakita joined Hitachi’s Heavy Industry Department, Headquarters Sales Office. He possesses a strong background in social infrastructure business development, particularly in the water treatment, smart cities and heavy industry equipment industries. Southeast Asia, a region under Hitachi Asia’s purview, presents various challenges and opportunities in these industries. Mr. Nakakita’s strong understanding and long experience in these fields will allow him to make decisions to propel Hitachi Asia and steer the company’s infrastructure business in Southeast Asia.
