IGEM 2013 was held from 10-13 October 2013 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Malaysia. Themed “Advancing Green Growth and Global Entrepreneurship”, this largest green exhibition in the region attracted more than 51,000 visitors from 23 countries.

For the fourth year running, Hitachi showcased its leadership in green technologies and solutions as an exhibitor at IGEM. Visitors at the Hitachi booth were able to learn more about Hitachi’s suite of Smart City Solutions in areas such as power / oil & gas, transport, industrial, consumer electronics, as well as corporate activities. To further illustrate the Hitachi Group’s long-term sustainability goals, the booth also featured the Smart City video presentation, showcasing four videos “Case Study of Maui in Hawaii”, ‘Visualised Urban Infrastructure Management”, “Hitachi’s Engagement in the Realisation of Smart Cities” and “Hitachi’s Global Brand Campaign TVC”. For the first time, a 3-D display of Hitachi’s wide range of business portfolio via a Hologram was shown, garnering much interest amongst visitors.

The Hitachi booth received over 1,150 visitors throughout the four days of the exhibition. Esteemed visitors to the Hitachi booth included Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Peter Chin, Former Minister of Energy, Green Technology & Water, Datuk Seri Dr. Maximus Johnity Ongkili, Minister of Energy, Green Technology & Water and Datuk Loo Took Gee, Secretary General of Ministry of Energy, Green Technology and Water.

In addition, Hitachi’s uniquely designed booth successfully caught the attention of the judges and was awarded the “Best Booth” award out of the 467 booths for the 2nd consecutive year!
