IGEM 2011 was held from 7-10 September 2011 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre. Themed “A Green New Deal, The Next Frontier”, the event showcased innovative green technologies and services from companies and organizations around the world and attracted more than 68 thousand visitors from 62 different countries.
In line with Hitachi’s commitment to contribute to environmental conservation through our business, Hitachi participated as an exhibitor at IGEM for the second year running. Visitors at the Hitachi booth were able to learn more about Hitachi’s Smart City Solutions in areas such as energy, IT, water and mobility. Presentations by the Hitachi brand ambassadors also helped visitors understand more about Hitachi’s environmental vision and activities. To further illustrate the Hitachi Group’s long-term sustainability goals, the event booth also featured the Hitachi Smart City diorama.
The Hitachi booth received over 1,000 visitors throughout the four days of the exhibition. Esteemed visitors to the Hitachi booth included Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, Prime Minister of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Peter Chin, Minister of Energy, Green Technology & Water, and Tunku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, Sultan of Negeri Sembilan. Members of the media also visited the Hitachi booth and conducted interviews with Mr Kiyoaki Iigaya, Deputy Managing Director of Hitachi Asia Ltd.
