Hitachi Donates Php 1 Million to Typhoon Pablo Relief

Manila, February 21, 2013 – Hitachi Asia Ltd. today announced that Hitachi Group donated Php 1 million to the Philippine Red Cross to assist in the recovery efforts following the destruction caused by Typhoon Pablo (international name: ”Bopha”) that hit Mindanao in December 2012.

“Our hearts go out to the thousands of families affected by the typhoon. Through Hitachi’s financial commitment, we sincerely hope for the earliest recovery of the people affected by the disaster,” said Mitsuhiko Shimizu, General Manager of Hitachi Asia Ltd Philippine Branch.

The Philippine government and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs have called for more aid for the recovery of the Mindanao communities devastated by Typhoon Pablo.

Previously, Hitachi Group donated Php 1 million to the Philippine Red Cross in 2011 as part of relief efforts for the victims of Typhoon Sendong.
