Hitachi Asia Appoints Takashi Ikematsu as President Director of PT. Hitachi Asia Indonesia

Jakarta, Indonesia, March 9, 2017 – Hitachi Asia Ltd. today announced the appointment of Mr. Takashi Ikematsu as President Director of PT. Hitachi Asia Indonesia with responsibility to grow the operations and to expand Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business in Indonesia.

Mr. Ikematsu, currently Manager of Industrial Utility Solutions Sales Department, Industrial Systems & Solutions Sales Division 3, Industry & Distribution Business Unit, Hitachi, Ltd., will succeed Mr. Takuya Yamakawa who is returning to Japan as Division Manager, International Business Development & Sales Division, Sales & Marketing Division, Railway Systems Business Unit, Hitachi, Ltd.

Both appointments will be effective April 1, 2017.

Mr. Ikematsu started his career with Hitachi in 1993 in the Heavy Industry Department, Industrial Plant Sales Division, Hitachi, Ltd. Over the years, he has held various managerial positions within the Hitachi Group and accumulated extensive experience in the areas of industrial systems and heavy industries.

In 1999, he moved to Hitachi (China), Ltd. as Senior Manager of Industrial Systems Department, Shanghai Branch. In 2005, he returned to the Industrial Plant Sales Division in Tokyo as the Assistant Manager of Heavy Industry Department before assuming the position as Manager of Overseas Sales Department, Mitsubishi-Hitachi Metals Machinery Inc. in 2008. Mr. Ikematsu was later assigned in 2011 as the Manager of Heavy Industry Department, Infrastructure Systems General Sales Division.

From 2013 to 2016, he was actively involved in promoting Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business as the Manager of Global Strategic Partner Center and subsequently as the Manager of Mining Project Division at the Social Innovation Business Promotion Division.
