For the 28th year running, Hitachi is proud to sponsor the Orchard Road Christmas Light-Up once again! This year’s Light-up started on 10 November and will end on 1 January. Asia’s most famous shopping street was transformed into a magical display of fairytales and whimsical wonderland. Orchard Road has become a visual feast of colours and lights lined with well-loved Disney characters, with trees on either side decorated with illuminated 3D Mickey Mouse icons to usher in the year-end festivities.

The yuletide season is here again as Singapore's favourite shopping street transforms into an enthralling world of enchanting galaxy! Stretching from Tanglin Mall shopping centre to Plaza Singapura, the 2.88 km became, as suggested by this year’s theme, an "Endless Wonder" of fun and fantasy where visitors are immersed into a different world from 11 November 2017 to 1 January 2018...

On 12 November 2016, Orchard Road was transformed into a dazzling display of lights and shimmering stars for the Christmas season. For the first time ever, a unique collection of interactive displays were also installed, providing lots of fun interaction for everyone. Themed "Spread the Joy", this year marked the 26th time that the Hitachi Group of Companies has been bringing Christmas cheer to visitors as the main sponsor for this signature festive light-up. At the light-up ceremony held at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza, Mr Ichiro Iino, Chief Executive for Asia-Pacific, Hitachi, Ltd. & Chairman, Hitachi Asia Ltd., represented the Hitachi Group of Companies in Singapore to present a cheque of S$250,000 to the Community Chest, the fund-raising arm of the National Council of Social Services...

On 14 November 2015, Orchard Road was transformed into a colourful display of bells and baubles. Themed "Christmas on A GREAT STREET", this year marked the 25th time that the Hitachi Group of Companies has been bringing Christmas cheer to visitors as the main sponsor for this signature festive light-up. At the light-up ceremony held at ION Orchard Atrium, Mr Ichiro Iino, Chief Executive for Asia-Pacific, Hitachi, Ltd. & Chairman, Hitachi Asia Ltd., represented the Hitachi Group of Companies in Singapore to present a cheque of S$250,000 to the Community Chest, the fund-raising arm of the National Council of Social Services. As part of the nation's jubilee celebration, the Care & Share Scheme was extended to this year where all donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Government. Hitachi is delighted that our donation will be doubled through this scheme and aid more beneficiaries...

Themed "Christmas on a Great Street", this year marked the 24th time that the Hitachi Group has been bringing Christmas cheer to visitors as a main sponsor for this signature festive light-up. At the switch-on ceremony held at Shaw House Urban Plaza, Mr. Kiyoaki Iigaya, Chief Executive for Asia, Hitachi, Ltd., represented the Hitachi Group Companies in Singapore to present a cheque of S$250,000 to the Community Chest, the fund-raising arm of the National Council of Social Services. This year in particular, the Care & Share@SG50 movement, which is held in conjunction with the nation’s golden jubilee celebration, will see all donations matched dollar-for-dollar by the Government....

At the switch-on ceremony held at Shaw House Urban Plaza, Mr Kiyoaki Iigaya, Chief Executive for Asia, Hitachi, Ltd., represented the Hitachi Group Companies in Singapore to present a cheque of S$220,000 to the Community Chest, the fund-raising arm of the National Council of Social Services. These funds sustain 228 social service programmes that help children, support people with disabilities, care for the elderly and bring families together....

On 17 November 2012, hearts, doves, and classic toys such as nutcracker soldiers and trains made their appearances as part of “Christmas on A Great Street” – Orchard Road’s signature festive light-up. This is the 22nd year that the Hitachi Group has been bringing Christmas cheer to visitors as a main sponsor for the Christmas light-up. At the switch-on ceremony held at ION Orchard, Mr Kiyoshi Kinugawa, Chief Executive for Asia, Hitachi, Ltd., represented the Hitachi Group Companies in Singapore to present a cheque of S$220,000 to the Community Chest, the fund-raising arm of the National Council of Social Services. These funds sustain 219 social service programmes that help children, support people with disabilities, care for the elderly and bring families together. The annual Christmas Light-Up (CLU) @ Orchard 2011 returned for the 28th year in 2011, transforming Orchard Road into a splendid garden of flowers blooming in the tropics from 19 November 2011 to 2 January 2012. Awarded the Top 10 Frommers World's Best Holiday Lights in 2010, Orchard Road came back with a new theme – Christmas Blooms in Singapore. The theme for this year's Christmas Light-up celebrated Singapore's famous identity as a Garden City. Visitors walking down the streets of Orchard Road would be greeted by thousands of glowing blue flowers. Each flower was composed of five little hearts which symbolised the heart-warming wishes of the Yuletide season, bringing love, goodwill and cheer to all...
