Led by Nikkei Business Publications, Inc. (Nikkei BP) and solely sponsored by Hitachi, the final edition of a three-part media collaboration known as the Asia Smart City Summit between Hitachi and Nikkei BP took place on 17 February 2016 (FY2015) in Bangkok, Thailand.
Apart from increasing Hitachi’s brand presence, the objective of the Asia Smart City Summit was to improve the understanding of Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business among Thai Government officials and local key stakeholders. In this event, Hitachi’s technology and expertise in the following areas namely Monorail, Wireless Communication, Logistics and Security were showcased; all of which were very much relevant to Thailand’s development and growth.
From Hitachi Group, two speeches were delivered during the conference session. The first was by Managing Director of Hitachi Asia Ltd. (HAS), Mr Hirohiko Morisaki who gave an outline on Hitachi and its Social Innovation Business. Secondly, the solutions lecture was delivered by Managing Director of Hitachi Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Mr Yasuo Mizutani and co-presented by Mr Daisuke Yamada from Rail Systems Group of HAS, Mr Rikiya Masuko from Hitachi Kokusai Electric Asia (Singapore) Pte. Ltd., Mr Masaya Kato from Hitachi Data Systems Pte. Ltd., and lastly Mr Poonsak Thiapairat from Eternity Grand Logistics Public Company Limited. Each of the co-presenters gave an excellent insight into the specifics of their specialised fields and demonstrated Hitachi’s strengths and capabilities to appeal to the audience.
To further introduce Hitachi’s products, technology and solutions, an exclusive exhibition area, which included two live demonstrations of Hitachi Visualization Suite (security solution) and Hitachi’s Access Control Systems using Finger Vein technology, was set up in the networking area. This generated much attention from guests before and during the conference, coffee break and networking dinner.
