Kojin Nakakita appointed new Chairman of Hitachi Asia Ltd.

Singapore, February 20, 2017 — Hitachi Asia Ltd. today announced the appointment of Mr. Kosuke Horiuchi as the new Managing Director of Hitachi Asia Ltd., responsible to grow the operations and expand Hitachi’s Social Innovation Business across the ASEAN region. He is currently Deputy Managing Director of Hitachi Asia Ltd.

Mr. Horiuchi will succeed Mr. Hirohiko Morisaki, who is returning to Japan to assume the post of General Manager, Sales & Marketing Division, Water Business Unit of Hitachi, Ltd. Both appointments will be effective April 1, 2017.

In April 2016, Mr. Horiuchi was assigned his current position and has spent the past year developing and promoting Hitachi’s business particularly in the area of global IT sector for financial institutions.

Mr. Horiuchi began his career in Hitachi in 1989 when he joined the company’s Information and Telecommunication Systems Division. He had accumulated over two decades of extensive knowledge and experience in the field of financial systems across various financial institutions, including insurance, security firms and banks.

Prior to joining Hitachi Asia, he had served as General Manager, Financial Solution Sales Unit 1 of Financial Information Systems Sales Management Division, Information and Telecommunication Systems Company, Hitachi, Ltd., to develop and promote IT solutions for banks.

Mr. Horiuchi graduated from the Faculty of Law at Keio University in Tokyo in 1989.
