The 18th Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative (HYLI) 2026 was held in Cebu, Philippines, from May 24–29, 2026. Thirty-two student delegates from eight Asian countries — Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam — came together under the theme “FLOW AS ONE: What’s next for a sustainable future?”
Through expert-led forums, immersive site visits, workshops, cultural exchanges and group presentations, the programme deepened delegates’ understanding of sustainability challenges. Engaging with leaders from government, business and academia, delegates examined real-world sustainability challenges and developed solutions aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), while exploring how collaboration, innovation and shared responsibility can drive practical solutions for Asia’s future.
