Alteration and Addition of Elliptical Pool in Marina Barrage, Singapore

Hitachi Aqua-Tech Engineering Pte Ltd

In January 2017, the Public Utilities Board (PUB) asked Hitachi Aqua-Tech Engineering to service a fountain at Marina Barrage as the decade old fountain had failed for some years due to difficulties in getting spares. The project had limited budget and a time-frame of just 20 days, plus a host of limitations such as site constraints and technological requirements.


The project team held several rounds of internal meetings to arrive at a solution that met all the client’s requirements. The team swung into action swiftly and coordinated their efforts to push the project through the tight deadline. Harmony was the key to the success of this project, which included internal liaison within the various teams and constant communication with the client and civil works contractor.


The project team hopes their work will inspire fellow colleagues to push hard even when faced with the toughest difficulties, and proving once again that it is possible to overcome any challenges when everyone is working as One Hitachi.

14th Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative in Yangon

The Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative (HYLI) provides youth leader participants with a unique platform where they can broaden their perception, understanding though conferences, workshops, field activities and presentations. More than 260 local guests and 18 external speakers from 5 countries participated in the 14th HYLI held in Yangon, Myanmar.


When the organizers faced difficulty in securing student facilitators from Hitachi staff, 8 Southeast Asian colleagues stepped forward in a show of harmony to share their professional expertise with the participants. The organizers also demonstrated sincerity by including respected local speakers in the program line-up. Even though they knew it would be challenging to hold the event in Yangon, the Hitachi pioneering spirit helped them push forward and overcome numerous difficulties. The HYLI event inspired the students and opened their eyes towards sustainable society, and to contribute to society in their own ways.

Creating Innovation and Operational Efficiency in Philippines’ Real Estate Industry

Hitachi Solutions Asia Pacific

DMCI Homes - Philippines’ leading premier property developer, approached Hitachi Solutions Asia Pacific to develop more efficient, effective, and transparent operations. Hitachi Solutions Asia Pacific created Property Management Solution to automate DMCI Homes’ business processes and allow for consolidation of real-time data for project accounting, financials, case management and workflows. They also developed the Seller's Portal for sellers to log-in and view available projects and property units anytime.


The success of the project was due in no small measure to the harmony between Hitachi Solutions Asia Pacific and DMCI Homes, with the two parties working closely hand-in-hand to come up with a scalable solution that could cater to future scenarios, data load, and performance. The Hitachi Solutions team showed honest and tireless efforts to deliver a solution tailor-fitted to the client’s business requirements and specifications, and their sincerity helped convince DMCI Homes that their proposed solution will achieve operational efficiency and sustainable business advantage.


The project also showcased Hitachi’s pioneering spirit in creating new solutions and innovative approaches to the real estate industry, and brought real estate processes to new heights. And most inspiringly, Hitachi Solutions Asia Pacific contributed to solving the social challenge of low quality housing, and improving the Filipino society’s quality of life.

Overcoming Obstacles to Achieving First Shipment

PT. Hitachi Automotive Systems Indonesia

Since the establishment of the company, PT. Hitachi Automotive Systems Indonesia had not been able to start mass operations, due to the challenges in meeting audit requirements. In order to start mass production by April 2018, PT. Hitachi Automotive Systems Indonesia sent their workers to train at Hitachi Automotive Systems Ltd (Japan), Hitachi Automotive Systems (Thailand) and PT. Hitachi Chemical (Indonesia). The close and harmonious relationship between the Hitachi companies helped the workers receive the necessary training and knowledge.


To demonstrate their sincerity to their customers, PT. Hitachi Automotive Systems Indonesia also implemented the SASG and APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) systems to improve production quality. The pioneering spirit also encouraged them to add four-wheeled brake systems to their current motorcycle brake system production. The effort of PT. Hitachi Automotive Systems Indonesia in creating safer vehicles and reducing the risks of traffic accidents is truly inspirational.

Reduce Scheduled Waste by Recycle Process and Reuse It

Hitachi Cable (Johor) Sdn. Bhd.

Solvent is applied to clean conductor in the vertical enamelling process, and the used solvent must be disposed as scheduled wastes by authorized agents in Malaysia. The staff of Hitachi Cable (Johor) Sdn. Bhd. purchased a solvent recycle distillation machine to recycle the solvent and reduce operation cost. Since July 2016, the company has been saving RM9,867 every month with the in-house recycling program.


With a harmonious relationship externally and internally, Hitachi Cable Johor was able to persuade the client and other departments to agree to the use of recycled solvent. Their sincerity in providing samples and third party lab test results to the customer also convinced the clients to accept the recommendation of using recycled solvent.


Hitachi Cable Johor had never recycled any of their hazardous wastes before, but the pioneering spirit spurred them to pursue novel solutions and invest in the new process. From the operation staff to the management, detailed studies and discussions convinced them to take the leap. By recycling solvents and promoting efficient waste management, Hitachi Cable Johor has been truly inspirational in reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainability.
