Hitachi to host first ever “Hitachi Social Innovation Forum in Malaysia”

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, February 7, 2017 — Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (UTP), Hitachi, Ltd. (Hitachi) and Hitachi Asia Ltd. (HAS) today announced that they have entered an agreement for UTP Centre for Intelligent Signal and Imaging Research (CISIR) to establish the first Optical Topography-Hub (OT-Hub) located outside of Japan to drive international joint research related to Optical Topography (OT) with technical support from Hitachi.

HSIF was conceptualized as a platform to demonstrate solutions that connect visionary planning, big data and infrastructure with the power of advanced data processing to transform and improve the quality of life for society in the future.

Featuring an exhibition that showcases case studies of various Hitachi’s applications adopted around the world, HSIF gives a glimpse into the future where infrastructure are intelligently managed, big data are utilized to anticipate usage requirements, thus building a smarter and more sustainable society.

Customers, business partners, and major stakeholders in Malaysia will be able to have a better understanding of Hitachi’s key business fields such as urban development, healthcare, industrial, power and energy, security, and ICT.

Among the highlighted scenarios and solutions for Malaysia are energy management systems especially for townships and security solutions in the face of rapid urbanization and rising security risks in the country. Hitachi will also be introducing solutions and track record in Urban Development, ICT and Railway Solutions during the business seminar.

A conference track with Guest-of-Honor YB Dato’ Seri Ong Ka Chuan, Minister II of International Trade and Industry, Malaysia, and Guest Presenter En. Norhizam Bin Abdul Kadir, Vice President, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) sharing experiences will be held alongside the exhibition. Hitachi Executives will also introduce Hitachi’s solutions and track record in Urban Development, ICT and Railway Solutions during the business seminar.
