Share with us a little about yourself.

I first joined Hitachi Thailand in July 2004 as a manager, and it has been a good 19 years. In the last two decades, I have been heavily involved in promoting and executing many projects. Some of the more recent projects include substation, monorail and railway businesses, OPENVQ project, demand response management system and solar PV businesses etc.

Tell us about your winning IYGA2022 project in relation to the Hitachi Values of Harmony, Sincerity, and Pioneering Spirit.

Pioneering Spirit
The Bangkok Red Line Project was the first EMU (electric multiple unit) train that Hitachi supplied to Thailand.

Sincerity
We faced many challenges regarding specifications’ requirement that evolved over 10 years i.e. from the time of tender, until the contract was signed (which was later based on European standard). We continued to honour the deal and stayed true to our objective to elevate the environmental concerns in Bangkok.

Harmony
Many parties were involved in this project, from Japan to Thailand. Without harmony between the project team, factory team and local team, we would never find the consensus to move towards the same direction and to convince our client that a mix of European standard and Japanese standard would truly add value to the Red Line.
